Coach Paul Rowley criticised his team's effort, especially as the Red Devils could have pushed into the top six with a victory, but fell away late.
"I thought we got what we deserved," Rowley admitted.
"We dipped our toe in the water a little bit as a collective. We weren't willing to work hard enough together.
"They deserved the win." Rowley denied his side was complacent heading to the Jungle, with the Tigers winless after six games.
"We knew what we were going to get," he said.
"It's a new experience coming here as favourites. The disappointment is from our performance.
