The Garden Bar and Restaurant on Monton Road was given permission from Salford council to host live music events and stay open until 2.30am on New Year's Eve. But nearly 100 residents objected, saying the decision has put their 'whole community at risk'.
The bar, which closes at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, also wanted to extend its opening hours each night until 1.30am, but this request was dropped after complaints from neighbours.
