Cancer fight mum's delight at lotto win

A MUM diagnosed with breast cancer has won a huge amount of money as she undergoes chemotherapy treatment.

Victoria Kelsey, 37, was one of hundreds of winners in Altrincham to have their postcode selected during the Postcode Lottery’s monthly Millions prize on Friday.

Some 223 other winners, who shared the same WA15 9 postcode, have all won prizes ranging from £9,211 to £27,633 – handing out a combined total of £3.2m. Victoria, who works at a wealth management firm, said her postcode being selected was ‘something good for a change’ after being diagnosed with cancer.

Since being diagnosed last October, Victoria has had 13 treatments out of a 16-round course of chemotherapy before she is able to then undergo surgery. Supported by her husband Michael, 45, Victoria was keen to celebrate their recent £9,211 win.

In fact, the lottery’s cheque reveal at The Bowdon Rooms on Saturday took place at the very same venue where the pair held their wedding reception 14-years-ago. “It feels good being back here and seeing it again,” Victoria said of the venue. “We got married in the church just round the corner.”
