Mainoo got his chance to shine in the Reds' midfield while Casemiro was out with a hamstring injury and now they've formed a strong partnership on the pitch.
Under manager Erik ten Hag, United have won all five games that Casemiro and Mainoo have started together. One of those saw Mainoo score a last-minute goal to win a thrilling match against Wolves.
Even though Kobbie won't turn 19 until April, Casemiro is impressed by his character and approach to the game.
"First off, I'd like to congratulate Kobbie. He's only 18 and he's already a starter at a club like Manchester United," said Casemiro, in an upcoming episode of United's TeamViewer Diaries.
