CHIPPY JOINS UPPER CRUST

A GREATER Manchester chippy has taken home a bronze medal for one of its dishes at a national awards but not for its fish and chips.

As much as Brits love a good chippy tea, they also love a pie, and thankfully, many of the best fish and chip shops across the region, also serve up a stellar selection of the beloved pastry.

That's certainly the case for a takeaway in Stockport, which has won an award for one its latest additions.

Town Street Fryer in Marple Bridge has took home third place for its chicken and leek pie at the British Pie Awards 2024. The shop serves up a wide variety of pies including some from Hollands's Pies and its own range made in-house too, earning them the title of 'pie nirvana' by some of its customers.
