A CORRUPT police officer with a gambling addiction abused his position to pass confidential information about crash victims to a friend.
Pc Akeel Kadir, also shared images of crime suspects and details of people under investigation for sex offences.
Kadir passed on information about an arson attack and the name and photograph of an alleged burglar, which was shared with more than 200 people. He also passed on details of a drink-driver and suspected rapist.
Kadir, 54, from Wigan, took advantage of his job as a GMP cop to access secure systems and confidential police information. He then shared the information to his friend Junaid Patel, 36, from Bolton, the manager of an insurance company.
In return Kadir, got perks, a court heard.
