AGONY OF FAMILY OF PODIATRIST MONTH AGO

Dad, we love you please come home

THE family of a much-loved dad and cherished health worker who remains missing after vanishing a month ago said they are going through 'mental torture' as they made an emotional appeal for help bringing him home.

Dad-of-two Anthony Williamson, known as Tony, who is 62 and from Timperley, Trafford, disappeared on Tuesday, December 19.

He was captured on CCTV footage walking down Greenway towards Park Road in Timperley at 11.12am on the day he went missing.

However, despite a comprehensive investigation including extensive searches, that is the last known sighting of him. Tony's two sons have now directly appealed to their dad, and the public for help tracking him down, as part of a major public appeal marking the one-month anniversary of his disappearance.

Tony worked for the NHS for 37 years as a podiatrist, at Wythenshawe Hospital and in the local community. He then took early retirement to spend more time with his wife Jackie but was still working part-time at his own practice which he has had for over 30 years.

Tony's family said for the past year he has been suffering with a 'chronic illness' that had left him in 'continual pain' and had 'impacted his daily life massively! His son Simon Williamson said the weeks since he disappeared had been 'mental torture' for his loved ones. Fighting back tears, he said: "We are desperate for him to come home as soon as possible, as the concern for his wellbeing and not knowing where he is, is a daily struggle. Dad, we love you, please come home."
