WHEN Kobbie Mainoo finally left the Molineux pitch on Thursday night the stands were deserted.
The bedlam of what had occurred barely 10 minutes previously had now given way to a calmness, but when the teenager finally made it back to the away dressing room the noise erupted again.
Mainoo had been locked in affectionate headlocks by teammates as Manchester United celebrated a wild win at Wolves, but he received a raucous ovation on his return to the dressing room after conducting his first external media duties just a moment or so earlier.
Having stolen the headlines with his stunning 97th-minute goal, host broadcaster TNT Sports had asked to speak to Mainoo.
The 18-year-old had never done any media outside of MUTV before, so was sent to the cameras on the pitch with Rasmus Hojlund for extra assurance and protection. It was Hojlund who ended up swearing on TV.
We shouldn't be surprised at the way Mainoo took it all in his stride.
His goal was a thing of beauty to restore United's lead, but he celebrated with maturity and composure. It is how he goes about his business.
