TWO teenagers accused of the murder of Brianna Ghey 'can't both be telling the truth, a jury heard. Girl X and Boy Y both deny murdering her and blame the other for the killing.
Brianna, a 16-year-old transgender girl, inset, was found by dog walkers in Culcheth Linear Park near Warrington just after 3 pm on Saturday, February 11, after being stabbed 28 times. Girl X, from Culcheth, and Boy Y, from Leigh, cannot be named due to legal reasons.
On the 15th day of the trial at Manchester Crown Court, the judge, Mrs Justice Yip, gave her legal directions to the jury, before they hear closing speeches on behalf of the prosecution and defence next week. The judge briefly summarised the defendants' cases.
