A DEVASTATED family missed out on the holiday of a lifetime thanks to a tiny tear in a passport.
Suzanne Senior, her husband Steven, their daughter Bethany and her boyfriend were all supposed to fly out to Thailand last Friday.
The family, from Oldham, forked out £7,000 for the holiday and couldn't wait to explore the islands around Phuket.
But their excitement was quickly cut short when a Qatar Airways employee noticed a defect in Bethany's passport. They were attempting to check into their flight when the staff member spotted a small rip on the 24-year-old's photo ID page.
The employee refused to accept the damaged document, meaning Bethany was not allowed to fly.
Suzanne Suzanne and Steven decided to stay behind with their daughter while her boyfriend chose to travel to Thailand alone.
Desperate to still go on holiday, the mum approached another airline desk and paid an extra £5,000 for the family to go to Turkey.
