THE DIRECTOR behind the Royal Exchange Theatre production of A Midsummer's Night Dream that was cancelled has broken her silence.
Stef O'Driscoll has spoken out for the first time since the full run of shows was cancelled. It comes after the Manchester Evening News revealed that the play was called off following a row over references to Palestine and trans rights.
The theatre announced on Saturday (September 14) that the fiveweek run would no longer be going ahead following a series of last-minute cancellations. The theatre blamed a cast injury and 'technical issues, saying 'every effort' was made to get the show on stage.
