THE huge Manchester Pride parade came to a temporary halt at the weekend for a surprise marriage proposal.
As thousands made their way down Deansgate and towards Manchester's Gay Village, one float came to stop.
Walking alongside the Prevent Breast Cancer float, Lisa stopped traffic in order to ask Steph, her partner of 20 years, if she would marry her.
As Steph said yes amongst tears of joy, the proposal drew huge cheers from the onlooking crowd as vans also honked in appreciation.
The fitting theme of the parade was 'Queerly Beloved' - to mark ten years of marriage equality in England and Wales. And it was even more fitting that it took place just three years after Steph, 45, was first diagnosed with breast cancer.
