Pub allegedly used as a brothel with sex workers offered payment in drugs

A PUB is alleged to have been used as a 'brothel, according to council documents.

A man and a woman were arrested in connection with the probe into The Railway Inn, 153 Manchester Road, Broadheath, Altrincham, last month, police said.

Officers alleged a 'vulnerable' woman was 'trafficked from outside Trafford to work there. The venue was shut last month after Greater Manchester Police and town hall officers said they uncovered 'significant evidence' it was being used to offer 'sexual services for reward! Two people were detained on suspicion of 'crimes relating to controlling prostitution for gain the force said. Magistrates issued a three-month closure order on February 21.

Women reported to 'various professionals' they were told 'punters' were 'lined up for them, a council official has now alleged in papers published on the town hall's website as a legal requirement under the Licensing Act 2003 following the imposition of a closure order and an impending review of the premises licence.
