One victim was taken to hospital in an ambulance from Barrington Street in Clayton following the incident at around 11.10pm on Sunday.
A second person later presented at hospital with injuries that police believe are connected to the incident. Officers said they suspect the incident was a 'targeted assault! A resident told the M.E.N: "We were woke up by a car. There was someone in the greenery, someone had gone up the street. The person in the greenery had something in his hand. The car looked like it was trying to get to that person.
