IN an instant, the lives of a family were ripped apart. Salah Adam's loved ones remember him as a 'happy person who 'always put others first.'
He was only 21 years old, but he was protective of his family and spoke of his concerns around 'how aggressive the young generation are. His fears were tragically realised when he was stabbed in the neck next to his family's Old Trafford home.
Salah's father, Ibrahim Adam, described his son as a 'gift' whose impact was 'as if he had lived 80 years. "He was beyond what we could ever expect, or wish for, as parents," he said.
"He was very loyal to his family and friends and would give more than his capacity as long as it made someone happy.'
It was that sense of loyalty that ultimately led Salah to danger. He was with two of his friends on May 31 last year when he was approached by the men who would go on to kill him Demari Rose and Xavaiour Whynter. A 'heated discussion took place about an incident the day before which saw 'around 15 people arrested, including Salah's younger brother, Mohammad Adam.
Prosecutors said Wynter lunged towards Salah and his two friends with a knife, before the trio returned to Salah's family home on Kings Road. But as one of his friends, Modasser Homayoon, stepped out of the house, he was spotted by Rose and Wynter on bikes.
