THE mother of a British man missing in Ukraine has described the last time she spoke to her son as she marks a month since his disappearance.
Daniel Burke, 36, was last seen in the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine - where he had been providing aid and rescuing injured soldiers - four weeks ago.
The former paratrooper, from Wythenshawe, was last seen on Friday August 11 after a fellow volunteer dropped him off at his apartment. He was reported missing by another British volunteer two days later.
Daniel previously served in Afghanistan and fought Islamic State in Syria seeing him survive sniper attacks, bomb blasts and infection. His family say he is experienced in frontline combat, reconnaissance and rescue - skills which he was utilising in Ukraine.
There has been much speculation about his disappearance, but his mum Diane says her main concern is to ensure the search continues. "I just don't want my son to be forgotten out there," she says.
Diane says she is worried that it will be tougher to find Daniel as time goes on.
