POLICE have arrested a suspected intruder after an elderly woman was reportedly attacked and sexually assaulted inside a care home.
The incident happened at a care home in Shaw, Oldham, just before 3am yesterday.
Police remained at the scene into the afternoon. A man has been arrested and a police investigation is continuing.
Officers confirmed they were called to reports of an unknown male at the premises and when officers attended an elderly woman was taken to hospital after they received more reports that the resident had been the victim of a serious sexual assault and assault.
