A lifelong United fan, Alan is a familiar voice to many fans thanks to his job as the stadium announcer.
Affectionately known as the 'Voice of Old Trafford, from tense nights in Europe to record-breaking goals the man has seen a thing or two in the over the last two decades.
Alan, 60, from Longsight, got the gig as the Old Trafford announcer thanks to a friend who recommended him for the role when the job was up for grabs.
Despite being a season holder, at the time he was working with the enemy at City in a training scheme with hopes of getting into media - not long before his namesake Kevin took over as Blues boss having made his name as a player with United's other big rivals, Liverpool.
The first football match Alan called was a Dennis Irwin testimonial against City, but his debut official game was a Premier League match against Newcastle in a 2-0 win for United with Ronny Johnsen and Andrew Cole as scorers.
Alan told the M.E.N: "It's been an amazing journey. I never thought when I got the job I'd still be there 23 years later.
