Bobb, 20, has been one of the breakout stars of the season under Pep Guardiola, taking advantage of Riyad Mahrez, Cole Palmer and James McAtee moving elsewhere to make his senior debut for club and country. If it feels like the youngster is just getting started at the Etihad, many in his homeland have been waiting to see this for almost a decade.
From before he reached double figures, Bobb was attracting international interest from clubs as his dribbling skills wowed crowds and word spread about his talent. He played up an age group in the Lyn team based in Oslo, and before too long had become a sensation that people from all over the country were dashing to see in action.
"We called him the Little Wizard," recalled Mikal Aaserud, who coached him at Lyn and is now following his progress in Manchester.
"Because he had the ability to take people on.
"What he did in Belgrade in the Champions League, you can times that by 1.5 or 2 every game. He did that to everybody and it didn't matter if it was a bad team in Norway or Atletico Madrid in the elite tournaments we were in.
"It was astonishing because he didn't get affected by who he met, he just did his thing all over again. What was worrying as a coach for a young player like that was he became a phenomenon in Norway
"In Norway we don't have t many crazy big talents so when have one or two in the year he w born, 2003, people come to see hi That is very strange.
