MANCHESTER United has issued a statement as football fans hoping to see the team play in Porto missed the Europa League match after being stuck at the airport for ten hours.
The specialist fan flight, with AlbaStar airlines, was cancelled on yesterday afternoon following repeated delays.
Supporters had arrived at Manchester Airport for 6am, ahead of the match at the Estadio do Dragao, which kicked-off at 8pm.
But after an initial issue with the first aircraft, and a delay in their rescheduled flight leaving Manchester, the trip was then cancelled at the last minute.
