Former Premier League midfielder Tom Huddlestone has spent the past two seasons fulfilling the role and he scored in the Premier League 2 win against City in February.
Huddlestone’s role was to provide advice to young players during games, as well as coaching during the week and he replaced his former Hull City team-mate Paul McShane in the job.
