THE partner of a pregnant mother killed by a dangerous driver has called for even tougher punishments even though senior judges have increased his sentence.
Calvin Buckley spoke out after senior judges quashed an 'unduly lenient' 12-year jail sentence handed to Adil Iqbal, 22, and increased it by three years.
Iqbal killed Frankie Jules-Hough, 38, from Chadderton, Oldham, in Bury in May after he lost control of his father's BMW M140i.
Mr Buckley had wanted a life sentence and said the new sentence, although increased, was a 'bitter pill to swallow.
Iqbal had filmed himself reaching speeds of 123mph in the vehicle before it crashed into Ms Jules-Hough's Skoda Fabia, which had pulled over on the hard shoulder with a tyre puncture on the M66. She was 17-weeks pregnant. Neither mum nor unborn child survived. Frankie and her partner planned to name their daughter Neeve.
Frankie's son Tommy, nine, and nephew Tobias, four, were passengers in her car - all wearing seatbelts - suffered serious injuries. Frankie's two-year-old Rocky, who was strapped into a child seat, was miraculously unharmed.
