The crash happened on Spotland Road in Rochdale shortly before 1pm yesterday. A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
Officers were called to reports that a HGV had collided with a 63-year-old woman at about 12.20pm yesterday.
The victim was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing point just before the junction with High Street.
"The emergency services attended but tragically a 63-year-old female pedestrian had sadly passed away," said the force in a statement. It is understood the woman was riding a mobility scooter.
