A new gun battle erupted between security forces and terrorists in the higher reaches of Doda district on Tuesday, as authorities intensified their search for the militants responsible for Monday’s deadly attack in Kathua that claimed the lives of five soldiers.
The fresh encounter broke out in the Ghadi Bhagwah forest, approximately 35 kilometres east of Doda town, following a cordon and search operation.
Preliminary information revealed that at least two terrorists were hit by the retaliatory action and it is premature to say whether they are dead or injured, a police officer said.
