With Shimla on the boil over the construction of an illegal mosque, protests have found resonance in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi where Hindu groups took out a march on Friday demanding the demolition of an unauthorised portion of another mosque in the town.
Now, protests in Mandi over another mosque; CM Sukhu appeals for peace

The protests in Mandi come just two days after Shimla erupted which led to an ugly clash between protesters and police personnel as barricades were tossed and batons and water cannons were used in reply. About 10 people, including police and women, were injured in the Himachal capital and police detained some protesters as well, including Hindu Jagran Manch secretary Kamal Gautam.

"Police have gathered records of call details of people who instigated Wednesday's protest to demolish an unauthorised portion of the mosque in Shimla. There is video evidence of people taking the law into their own hands,"" said Shimla Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi.
