Security forces kill at least 28 Naxalites in Chhattisgarh

In one of the largest counter-insurgency operations in Chhattisgarh's history, security forces killed at least 28 Maoists during a fierce gunbattle in the Bastar region on Friday, marking a significant blow to the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) in the state.

Earlier, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai had said around 30 Naxalites were killed in the gun battle.
