Severe air pollution persists in Delhi with AQI reaching 373

Delhi's air pollution remained close to the "severe" level for the third day in a row on Tuesday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) hitting 373 during the season's first fog episode.

The capital's 24-hour average AQI, measured at 4 pm, was recorded at 373 on Tuesday, down from 381 on Monday and 382 on Sunday.

Air quality reached the "severe" category (AQI over 400) at eight monitoring stations across the city, a decrease from 13 earlier in the day. The affected areas included Anand Vihar, Ashok Vihar, Bawana, Mundka, New Moti Nagar, Jahangirpuri, Wazirpur, and Vivek Vihar.

Meanwhile, several other locations across the country reported AQI levels classified as "very poor."
