KOLKATA: In a significant achievement, Bengal has recorded a zero per cent dropout rate at both primary and upper primary levels, according to the latest Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) report for the academic year 2023-2024.
This marks a significant improvement from the previous year (2022-2023), when the dropout rate was 8.1 per cent at the primary level (classes I-V) and 3.4 per cent at the upper primary level (classes VI-VIII).
The national average for dropout rates in 2023-2024 is 1.9 per cent for primary and 5.2 per cent for upper primary, further highlighting Bengal's strong performance.
