India's share in global market capitalization dipped to 4.2% in December from its August peak of 4.6%, as global equity markets faced turbulence, showed an analysis by Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd. The last few months of 2024 saw some turbulence in global equity markets due to various factors, leading to the correction in stocks. Despite the correction, resilient macroeconomic stability has kept India's equity markets afloat, well above the historical average of 2.7%.

The good part is despite the moderation, the Indian market was among the top 10 contributors to the global market capitalization in December.
