Airbus to deliver Aeroflot's A350 order to Air India

Tata-owned Air India is expected to receive its first Airbus 350 wide-body aircraft in the second half of 2023 -- most likely from October. The Russian airline company Aeroflot’s orders for A350 aircraft by Airbus will now be delivered to Air India.

Russia’s ongoing “special military operation” in Ukraine has led to sanctions against Russia by the US. Subsequently, European aircraft manufacturers stopped supplying planes to Russia.

“Air India is aggressively looking for expansion plans and the A-350 aircraft is part of the plan. We are in touch with the manufacturer (Airbus) to bring the aircraft at the earliest,” an Air India official said.
