The attack, which occurred on Sunday, resulted in the tragic loss of nine lives, with 41 others sustaining injuries. The bus, carrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra, was targeted by terrorists, causing it to veer off the road and plunge into a deep gorge near Teryath village in the Poni area.
Expressing his concerns, Lt Governor Sinha emphasized the seriousness of the incident and assured that appropriate measures would be taken to counter such threats. He underscored the ongoing joint operation by the police, CRPF, and Army to apprehend those responsible for the attack. Director General of Police R R Swain and his team are actively supervising the anti-terror operation, signalling a concerted effort to address the security challenge.
