Mzukisi Ndamase made his first appearance in the Lusikisiki Magistrate's Court yesterday in connection with the murders.
Ndamase allegedly orchestrated the murders from prison, where he is serving a life sentence for murder and robbery, according to the National Prosecuting Authority.
The 46-year-old is incarcerated at the Ebongweni Super-Maximum Correctional Centre in Kokstad.
