There is something very appealing about miniature versions of the original. In the plant world that can evoke a sense of wonder. How is it possible that this tiny bloom can be so perfect?
A word that is cropping up more and more, especially where indoor plants are concerned, is "cute". According to the 2025 Garden Trends report by The Garden Media Group, "plants with never-before-seen colorations" and "surreal pastels", are top pins on Pinterest.
While they are clearly fake, thanks to AI, it indicates a desire for softer, endearing, appealing, sweet or delightful looking plants. In other words, "cute".
With Christmas just a breath away, why not give in to cuteness and look out for the mini's as appealing gift plants or as tabletop decor?
Pocket sized phalaenopsis
Mini and micro phalaenopsis are truly perfection in miniature. Because plants are smaller they fit in anywhere, and are lovely as festive table decor, dressed up with tinsel, ribbons and baubles.
The smaller leaves and flowers make them less top heavy and less likely to fall over, which also makes them easier to put on windowsills (no sun), on coffee tables, bedside stands, cupboards and desktops.
