Pick n Pay has joined the eBucks rewards programme with an offer where FNB customers can earn up to 30% of their spend back.
This is double the maximum amount earned in eBucks from its other grocery partners, Checkers and Spar.
The move comes after Checkers and its Sixty60 platform snagged Discovery Vitality's HealthyFood as a partner from September, effectively displacing Pick n Pay.
FNB and Discovery have been locked in an intense battle for a segment of customers for years since the Discovery Card joint venture ended in 2018-19.
Because this used FNB's platform and banking licence, FNB faced (and still faces) a real risk of losing core customers in the Private segment to Discovery.
This is the latest move in this tit-for-tat fight.
