THE GROWING INFLUENCE OF MOBILE LEARNING: HOW EDTECH IS MAKING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACCESSIBLE ANYTIME, ANYWHERE

While technological advancements continue to take place, mobile learning or "m-learning," has emerged as a major catalyst in the Edtech sector, allowing learners to access instructional resources anywhere and anytime. This novel trend improves access to knowledge, allowing students to stay competitive in a rapidly changing job market. From workplace training to growth in skills, mobile learning has revolutionised professional development, making it more flexible, inclusive and tailored to individual needs.

RISE OF MOBILE LEARNING IN INDIA

The traditional educational approach has been in place for decades, with students visiting actual classrooms and being taught in person by teachers. However, with the rapid growth of technology, there has been a substantial movement towards digital education in recent times. This change is not restricted to using PCs or tablets in the classroom; it also includes mobile learning via cell phones and other portable devices. According to the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2023, 89% of Indian teenage students aged 14-18 have a smartphone at home, and 92% can use it. Approximately two-thirds of them have utilised smartphones for academic purposes, exhibiting a considerable shift in educational approaches.
