M T Vasudevan Nair (91), fondly known as MT, was a literary and cinematic giant whose brilliance knew no bounds. As a writer, editor, director, screenplay writer, lyricist, and non-conformist, his creations broke barriers while remaining deeply rooted in the culture of a small region in northern Kerala. Strikingly, MT's global fame began when a British newspaper teamed up with a Malayalam daily to host an international short story competition in 1953.
