After delayed FIR, now action lags against four cops

The Vakola police are yet to take action against four suspended cops, who were finally booked in the drugs planting case nearly three-and-a-half months after the incident.

The case was filed on December 19, but even after eight days, no action has been taken. However, the police claimed that they had issued a notice to the accused, but they were not found at their locations.

Advocate Akshay Bhole, representing complainant Dylan Estbeiro, criticised the police for filing the case under weak sections, which don't attract strict punishment for the serious offence.
