Vaishnaw said the report, which has recommended simultaneous elections for the Lok Sabha and state Assemblies as the first step followed by synchronised local body polls within 100 days, was approved unanimously by the Cabinet. He said the recommendations would now be discussed across India and for this an "implementation group will be formed to take the issue forward," as had been recommended by the committee.
