In a startling display of systemic decay, seven police inspectors in Ahmedabad have flagrantly disregarded orders on the first day of a crucial new directive, underscoring profound dysfunction within the police force.

The Ahmedabad Commissionerate had issued a clear mandate requiring all Station House Officers (SHOS) and police inspectors to remain on duty until midnight during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival and Eid, and Eid, which extends until September 17.

However, the absence of key figures such as Police Inspector RV Vinchhi of Bodakdev, BK Bharai of Anandnagar, VJ Chavda of Narayanpura, and Nirav Barot of Sola highlights a severe breach of duty and discipline.

This defiance comes amid heightened security concerns following a riot in Surat, prompting intervention from both the Minister of State for Home and the Director General of Police (DGP) Headquarters.
