A rally at Fort cancelled due to police strictness

Several organisations, including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and Swarajya Toran Pratishthan had to drop their plan of celebrating the Swarajya Prerna Diwas at the Deogiri Fort on Thursday due to heavy police deployment.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has denied permission to organise any function at the fort. Still, hundreds of activists organised a vehicle rally and reached the steps of the fort on Thursday. The activists wanted to erect the Swarjya Stambh at the Fort, but after coming across a heavy police deployment in the area, the activists returned to Maliwada and erected the Stambh there.
