Criticising the Opposition for alleging that the government was changing the Constitution, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the Constitution is like Gita, Ramayan, Bible and Quran for him.
At a public meeting in Rajasthan's Barmer on Friday, Modi said, "As far as the Constitution is concerned, take it in writing that even if Baba Saheb Ambedkar himself comes, he cannot abolish the Constitution. Our Constitution is Gita, Ramayana, Bible, and Quran for us." Modi said the Congress is playing an old record. As soon as the elections come, it starts spreading lies in the name of the Constitution. "Congress did not allow Ambedkar to get Bharat Ratna, made him lose the elections... that Congress is taking the cover of lies in the name of the Constitution to abuse Modi. Modi started celebrating the Constitution Day for the first time and the Congress opposed it.
