‘Erring’ EP escapes action

The CPI-M Kerala secretariat on Monday decided not to take action against Left Democratic Front convener EP Jayarajan for having met BJP’s Kerala in-charge Prakash Javadekar. This is the third time EP escaped action as members in the CPI-M secretariat said it cannot take action against EP as he is a central politburo member.

While the state secretariat could have recommended an action to the politburo, it refrained as it is aware EP is one of the tallest leaders in Kerala and CPI-M did not want to rock the boat at the moment. Political observers acknowledged any strong action against EP would have boomeranged against the party as he is politically too big to be pinned down.
