Speaking at the News18 India Chaupal event in a conversation with Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi, Sitharaman explained that the muted growth figures in QI were largely due to election-related constraints.
Sitharaman emphasised the role of capital expenditure in driving economic growth in the near term, noting that delays caused by the election season had a significant impact on Q1 results. However, she reassured that expenditure will surge in Q2 and Q3, helping boost the "slowing down" growth as alleged by some critics.
