HC quashes all FIRs against IPS GP Singh, citing lack of evidence

In a significant relief for IPS officer GP Singh, the High Court of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday annulled all three FIRs filed against him, including those related to disproportionate assets, treason, and extortion.

The ruling was issued by a bench comprising Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Ravindra Aggarwal, who found insufficient evidence to support the charges against Singh.

The court stated that the cases appeared to be an attempt to harass Singh, and no credible evidence was provided to substantiate the allegations.

Senior counsel Ramesh Garg, representing Singh, participated in the hearing virtually, while Singh's counsel, Himanshu Pandey, argued that the FIRs were politically motivated, filed by the previous government as part of a targeted conspiracy.
