A day ahead of the assembly session, rebel CPI-M lawmaker PV Anvar on Sunday launched a new social movement called the Democratic Movement of Kerala at a massive meeting in Manjeri. He clarified that DMK is not a political party but may later enter political turf.
Speaking at the meeting, Anvar said his movement would take all communities along and ensure justice to the neglected Malabar region. Borrowing a few pages from Aam Aadmi Party, he focused on ordinary people like auto-rickshaw drivers, two-wheeler users and the poor.
