Modi fires 'fled the field' salvo at Sonia

It was a day’s reprieve for Rahul Gandhi as PM Modi directed his barbed comments at Sonia Gandhi, remarking with obvious sarcasm that those who cannot win elections have “fled the field” and sneaked into the Rajya Sabha from the backdoor.

Though the prime minister refrained from mentioning Sonia by name, the oblique reference to Rajasthan, from where Sonia was elected to the upper house, left little room for doubt.
