Is it realistically possible for political parties in India to keep nationalism above politics?

It is highly difficult given the fact that political nationalism is different and complex in a country like India which is well-known for its hostile political divide and for the deep-seated political antagonism. No political party in India illustrates this crude fact more than the BJP ever since it came to power in 2014. In the last ten years, the RSS-backed saffron party has become increasingly complicit in enabling hate speech. The party has been doing everything it can to polarize the nation by inflaming communal divisions.
