The seizure happened during a crackdown on drugs ahead of New Year celebrations and is being spoken of as the biggest seizure made by the Bengaluru police in recent times. City Crime Branch arrested the 40-year-old Roselime Oluchi who was using her restaurant cum grocery shop in Tambu Chetty Palya, close to KR Puram in north east Bengaluru, as a front to sell MDMA to both foreign nationals and locals. Nigerians and African nationals gravitate towards this area as well as in surrounding Horamavu and in Banaswadi.

Oluchi was caught red-handed when the consignment was being delivered by a Mumbai-based foreign national Juliet. The police are on a lookout for Juliet who managed to escape. After Oluchi's arrest, the police, during the search on her premises, recovered 70 mobile SIM cards.
