The Congress has demanded that an FIR be filed against Gaikwad for his statement. Responding to the issue, Leader of the Opposition in the legislative assembly Vijay Wadettiwar said, "An FIR should be filed against MLA Sanjay Gaikwad.
This MLA from the Eknath Shinde faction is not event worthy of taking Rahul Gandhi's name. Gaikwad is not more than a traitor MLA from a stolen party.
