The Congress has alleged manipulation in the release of the Haryana Assembly election data by the Election Commission, suggesting that "outdated and misleading" trends were disseminated at the behest of the BJP-led Central Government to "build pressure on the administration."

It subsequently declared that the results were unacceptable. The poll panel, however, responded by stating that such insinuations were "irresponsible, unfounded, and uncorroborated malafide narratives."

At a press conference in the evening, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh remarked: "The results in Haryana are totally unexpected, completely surprising, and counter-intuitive. They contradict reality. They go against what the people of Haryana had decided upon, which was for change and transformation."
